About me

My name is Tatiana and I was born in Russia when it was still part of the Soviet Union . I studied architecture and I am passionate about drawing , sculpture and painting.
After 10 years working as architect, the love brought me to live in Catalonia .
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I felt the need to give a bit of Russian culture from birth .

Searching for information on traditional Russian toys, I realised that the typical Russian souvenirs, The Russian Doll, was originally a toy . Then each of them was handmade and hand-painted, unique . On them was represented the everyday Russian families of the past: the peasant who holds a hen, the girl who takes care of her brother, the lady with the basket full of raspberries, grandfather leaning on his staff are some examples .
This information inspired me to paint my own Russian dolls for my daughter. The admiration shown by family and friends when they saw the Russian Doll, made me decide to continue painting .

Avoiding artificial and toxic materials, I paint my dolls with natural pigments watercolours and then I finish them with vegetable oil or natural wax .

I believe that a handmade piece with noble products and love is destined to transfer from generation to generation .
